3.6 CCTV
Storage King uses camera surveillance systems (commonly referred to as CCTV) for the purposes of maintaining safety and security of our business premises and managed facilities. Those CCTV systems may also collect and store personal information and we will comply with all privacy legislation in respect of any such information.
Any CCTV and security recording system that Storage King utilises, including Facial Recognition Technology, must strike an appropriate balance between the personal privacy of individuals using or visiting Facility premises, maintaining a secure environment and the objective of recording incidents.
The system will be operated fairly within applicable law, and only for purposes to which it is established and the presence of CCTV on Facility premises will be brought to the notice of the customer and the general public by prominent and appropriate signage.
CCTV images recorded at the Facility are stored digitally. All recorded material will be treated as confidential and, if the recordings contain Personal Information, this information will be managed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
3.7 Identity Verification (AplyID)
To verify your identity in connection with your application for storage and to help prevent fraud, identity theft and unlawful use of our services, Storage King uses a third-party identity verification platform known as AplyID, operated by APLYID Pty Ltd (ACN 632 866 794).
When we use AplyID, you will be asked to provide an image or scan of a government-issued identification document (such as your driver's licence or passport) and to capture a live image of your face. AplyID then compares the live image of your face against the image in your identification document to confirm that you are the person shown in that document. This process involves the collection and processing of biometric information, which is a category of sensitive information under the Privacy Act.
By proceeding with identity verification through AplyID, you consent to: (a) the collection, use and disclosure of your identification documents, the image of your face, your biometric information and the verification result by Storage King and AplyID for the purposes of identity verification, fraud prevention and meeting our legal obligations; and (b) the storage and processing of that information by AplylD and its service providers, which may occur in Australia and overseas (refer to clause 5.1).
AplyID handles your personal information in accordance with its own privacy policy, which is available on the AplyID website at https://www.aplyid.com (or such other URL as may apply from time to time). We encourage you to read AplyID's privacy policy before completing identity verification.
Storage King retains the verification result for as long as we need it to operate your storage account and meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations. Biometric templates generated during the verification process are managed by AplyID in accordance with its retention policies and are not retained by Storage King.
3.8 Investors
Storage King's registry is outsourced to an external service provider, Boardroom. Boardroom has their own privacy policy detailing the collection, use, disclosure and management of personal information that Boardroom collects on our behalf. (d) whether the supply of the information is voluntary or required by law, and the consequences (if any) for the individual or the customer if the information is not provided;
(e) the individual's rights to access and correct their personal information held by us, as described in this Privacy Policy; and

5. Data storage, quality and security
5.1 Storage
Your personal information is stored securely by us or our third-party information storage providers, in either hard copy or electronic form. Our information storage providers may be located in Australia and overseas, including in any country where we, our related bodies corporate, or our service providers (and their sub-processors) operate, host infrastructure, or provide support services. Storage King strives to ensure the security, integrity and privacy of personal information, and we will take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Storage King reviews and updates (where necessary) our security measures considering current technologies. We take a number of steps to protect the security of your personal information. Depending on the information and other circumstances, those steps may include, security passes for access to our premises, network firewalls, access passwords on our computers and contractual protections where we use service providers to store information for us.
We also have policies and processes which govern document retention and data breach incidents. We endeavour to ensure that personal information is kept as current as possible and that irrelevant or excessive data is deleted or made anonymous as soon as reasonably practicable. However, some personal information may be retained for varying time periods to comply with legal and regulatory obligations and for other legitimate business reasons.

6.1 Google Analytics and online advertising

8. Accessing and amending your personal information
You have a right to access your personal information which Storage King holds about you. If you make a request to access your personal information, we will ask you to verify your identity and specify the information you require.

10. Data Breach
A data breach occurs when personal information held by an entity is lost or subjected to unauthorised access, modification, disclosure or other misuse or interference.

11. Biometric technologies, including facial recognition
Facial Recognition Technology" or "FRT" involves the collection of a digital image of an individual's face and the extraction of their distinct features into a biometric template. The biometric template is then compared against one or more pre-extracted biometric templates for the purpose of Facial Verification or Facial Identification.
We do not currently use facial recognition technology to identify customers, visitors or other individuals. We may consider using biometric technologies, including facial recognition, in the future for limited purposes such as security, controlled access, fraud prevention, safety, incident response, or protecting our customers, our people, and our property and premises.
