Whatever your reasons for needing a self-storage unit, you’ll want one that ticks all the boxes. So, where do you look? There are lots of storage operators out there, and telling them apart isn’t easy. To help you decide which might be best for your circumstances, Canstar asked more than 460 Aussies about their feedback on the self-storage service they’ve used in the last two years. Companies were rated on their quality of storage, safety and security, accessibility, convenient location, customer service, value for money and overall satisfaction. Those which received the minimum survey sample size of 30 responses are featured in Canstar's results.

Storage King was rated five stars across the majority of categories, including value for money, safety and security, quality of storage, accessibility, location convenience and overall satisfaction.

There’s a lot to keep track of when it comes to running a small business. There are clients to deal with, staff birthdays, competitors to keep an eye on, as well as that pile of old boxes and documents in the spare room that you’ve been meaning to get around to for the past few months. While you could simply throw it all out, self-storage is another option for businesses to consider, helping to clear space in the office without sacrificing anything to the bin.

In Canstar's latest survey, almost half of respondents (42%) stated that self-storage is a permanent solution for their business, with 25% paying for premium storage, meaning that it can quickly run up the business expenses. As a result, it’s best to look into all of your options before finding a spot to dump your things, with Canstar's ratings being a good place to start.
